The Christmas Meeting is an annual online meeting of the BSHM which showcases the excellent current research being done in history of mathematics across a variety of themes and time periods. The Annual General Meeting will take place during the lunch break, which we encourage members to attend.
This year we are delighted to have the following speakers: Eleonora Sammarchi (University of Bern) will speak on the MediMath corpus; Senthil Babu (French Institute of Pondicherry) will speak on standardization in colonial South India; Jesse Garrison (UCL) will speak on mathematicians ‘in the field’ on eclipse expeditions; Erica Meszaros (Brown University) will speak on the algorithmic lens in Babylonian astronomy; and Jessica M. Otis (George Mason University) will speak on quantifying the dead in early modern London. A full programme and book of abstracts is available on the BSHM website, here.
