Call for Papers: British Society for the History of Science Postgraduate Conference | University of Leeds | 25th & 26th April, 2025
The Organising Committee is delighted to announce the Call for Papers for the BSHS Postgraduate Conference 2025. Our theme for this year will be Interdisciplinarity in the History of Science. The deadline for paper submissions is Friday 13th December, 2024.
The conference will be held in person at the University of Leeds and will take place on Friday 25th & Saturday 26th April, 2025. Papers will be 15 minutes long; each 90-minute panel session will feature four papers followed by a discussion between speakers and audience members.
We welcome papers from all postgraduate students working on topics relevant to the history of science, technology and medicine. Students of all nationalities and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We are particularly keen to hear from early career researchers who have not had the opportunity to present at academic conferences before.
Please note that the conference will have limited capacity, therefore priority will be given to scholars who have not previously presented at the BSHS Annual Conference.
To apply, we invite you to submit a title, abstract, and a short bio via this online form. The deadline for applications is 23.59 GMT on Friday 13th December 2024.
We will notify all applicants of the outcome of their application in the week commencing 20th January 2025.
You do not need to be a member of the BSHS to apply. However, joining the BSHS as a postgraduate student grants access to funding, prizes, opportunities, and support for BSHS events. Member fees for students are only £10! For more information, please visit https://www.bshs.org.uk/membership.
